Piräus (/ paɪˈriːəs, pɪˈreɪəs /; Griechisch: Πειραιάς Pireás pireˈas » , Altgriechisch: Πειραιεύς, Peiraieús, ausgesprochen peːrai̯eús » ) ist eine Hafenstadt in der Region Attika, Griechenland. Piräus liegt im Stadtgebiet von Athen, 12 Kilometer südwestlich vom Stadtzentrum (Gemeinde Athen) und an der Ostküste des Saronischen Golfs. Laut der Volkszählung von 2011 hatte Piräus eine Bevölkerung von 163.688 Einwohnern innerhalb seiner Verwaltungsgrenzen. Damit ist Piraeus nach der Gemeinde Athen die fünftgrößte Gemeinde in Griechenland und die zweitgrößte im Stadtgebiet der griechischen Hauptstadt.
